Our Mission

Experiencing and sharing God’s transforming love with our neighbors and the world

Core Values

Below are the Twin Falls Church of the Nazarene's Core Values

Christ-Centered Spirituality

Everything we do is rooted in our relationship with Jesus. (Colossians 2:6-7) We foster connection with Jesus. We discover our identity as individuals and as a community in Jesus (Galatians 2:20, 1 Peter 2:9, Ephesians 2:10). And we strive to live purposefully on mission with Jesus (John 17:18).

Real Relationships
God values relationships - so we value relationships (1 John 4:7-11). We seek honest, authentic connections with people. All people. That includes people with all sorts of different backgrounds, like different socio-economic statuses, different ethnicities, different first languages, and different cultures (Galatians 3:28). We do this because we truly believe that life is better together.
Missional Life
We understand our lives within the framework of God’s mission to reconcile all of creation back to God (Colossians 1:20). We are ambassadors of this mission of the world’s salvation and restoration (2 Corinthians 5:20). Therefore, we strive to proclaim the Good News of Jesus in all aspects of our individual lives and our communal life together (Matthew 28:19-20)
Meaningful Service
Jesus modeled a life of service to us so we seek to embody service in our individual lives and within our church (Matthew 20:28, Galatians 5:13). We recognize that God equips us for service by empowering us with gifts, strengths, and passions that build up the Body of Christ and provide benefits to the broader community (1 Peter 4:10-11, 1 Corinthians 12:4-11). We encourage everyone in our church, from the youngest to the oldest, to serve joyfully.
Whole Life Transformation
We are convinced that Jesus not only saves us by restoring our relationship with God - Jesus also transforms our whole lives, through the power of the Holy Spirit, for the purpose of becoming more like Christ (2 Corinthians 3:18). We affirm that Christ has defeated the power of sin (Romans 6:6-7,14) and that, through Christ, we can be people of upright and moral character marked by love (1 John 3:5-7, 1 John 4:7-17). Our experience is that spiritual practices by which God draws near to us are means of transformation. As such, we encourage people to regularly and often participate in worship with other Christians, prayer, study and meditation upon the Bible, Life Groups, acts of service, and other spiritual practices by which we connect to God.
Dedicated Nazarenes
We joyfully identify ourselves as Christians who affirm the historic doctrines of the Church of Jesus. We trace our lineage from Jesus, the Nazarene (Matthew 2:23), through the Apostles, to the faithful Christians of the first 15 centuries of the Church, to the Protestant Reformers, to the early Methodists of the 18th century, to the Holiness Movement of the 19th-20th century, to the establishment of the Church of the Nazarene in 1908. Our theology is particularly influenced by people like John & Charles Wesley, Phoebe Palmer, Mildred Bangs Wynkoop, Rob Staples, and others within the Wesleyan-Holiness tradition. We hold to the Church of the Nazarene’s Articles of Faith and affirm the denomination’s core values which are: Christian, Holiness, and Missional

What we believe

We stand with Christians throughout history who have proclaimed that God is both three and one - unique in each person, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit and yet, completely united.  We believe that God freely offers salvation to all of humanity.  We believe that Jesus is our Lord, Savior, and Friend and that we know Him through the Holy Spirit in us.  We believe that through the Holy Spirit working in us, our lives can be transformed so that we can actually live out God’s call to love God and love one another more and more.  We believe that the Bible is our primary source of spiritual truth.  We believe the Bible proclaims the story of God and humanity. And we believe that our knowledge of God can be affirmed through reason, the Christian tradition, and our own life experiences.
