Reopening Plan

Dear Twin Falls Church Family,

I wanted to begin this letter by thanking you for praying for your Church Staff and your Church Board. We are also praying for you.  Our Covid-19 Task Force, along with the Church Staff and Church Board, created a multi-phase approach to reopen the church.  We are purposely praying as we seek God’s will and direction for us as we move forward.  We are super excited to be in church with all of you again.  We miss seeing you all in person.  Our reopening plan will remain flexible.  We will continue to monitor the information provided by our government and health professionals.  You will find our reopening plan in this correspondence. Our reopening plan will be on our Twin Falls Church of the Nazarene Website, http://www.tfnaz.church.  The website is where we will update our plan if needed.  Please continue to pray for us as we prepare for our return to onsite worship beginning on May 31st.  We will be offering five worship services on that Sunday.  This will enable us not to have too many people in one service at a time. We will rely on the Lord’s strength and our amazing volunteers to make this happen.  Meeting in the gym will also provide us with an opportunity to structure our seating in a way that ensures appropriate social distancing.

We know that this season of disruption and uncertainty has been difficult for all of us.  We also understand that we all have unique perspectives on this virus and the decisions that are being made.  I want to encourage you to maintain a spirit of love and compassion.  We are a multigenerational family.  We are in this together.  It is my hope and prayer that all of us will worship the Lord with every fiber of our being and that we will love one another with the incredible love and grace that Christ has poured into our lives.

Please continue to look for our Facebook and Email communication as we move closer to May 31st.

Trusting in Jesus,

Pastor Andy

Phased Opening Plan for the Twin Falls Nazarene Building

Idaho Governor Brad Little recently issued a four-phase approach to reopening Idaho.

At Twin Falls Church of the Nazarene, we take seriously the safety of all people, not only our members and attenders, but those in our community we desire to reach for Jesus. For that reason, we will honor the approach that “slower is better”. The following are the Four Phases, as they will apply to Twin Falls Church of the Nazarene’s tentative reopening plan. As the COVID-19 situation continues to unfold our plan will remain flexible, and is subject to change based on a variety of factors

Phase 1 (May 1 – 15)

TFNaz’s Plan

  • Worship Services will remain online (Facebook, and YouTube).
  • All Life Groups will continue to meet via Zoom.
  • Church offices will remain closed and staff will continue to work from home.
  • All leadership and business meetings will continue via Zoom (board meetings, staff meetings, etc.)
  • Continue to contact and minister to those who are vulnerable and those without the capacity to connect to church ministries online.

Phase 2 (May 16 – 29)

TFNaz’s Plan

  • Worship Services will remain online ( Facebook, and YouTube). We will transition from taping worship services at homes to taping together in the gym.  Social distancing will be observed and we will limit the number of staff, tech, and music ministry for that taping.  We are taping our services in the gym, as we prepare to have our services on-site in the gym when we re-open.  Meeting in the gym enables us to strategically space our seating.
  • Life Groups will continue to meet via Zoom.
  • Church offices will remain closed and staff will continue to work from home.
  • All leadership and business meetings will continue via Zoom (board meetings, staff meetings, etc.)
  • Continue to contact and minister to those who are vulnerable and those without the capacity to connect to church ministries online.

Phase 3 (May 30 – June 12)

TFNaz’s Plan

  • Worship Services will remain available online.
  • We will begin having worship services in the Gym on May 31st.  We will set up our seating in strategic ways to support our social distancing objectives.    No offering plates passed, but will use offering box.  We will not be using paper bulletins.  Restrooms will be open and cleaned throughout the day.  The outside of the building will be used as our foyer.  Our service times will be 9am, 11am, 1pm, 5pm, and 7pm.  We will train and utilize volunteers to provide distance greeting, and the necessary cleaning and sanitation practices between each service time.
  • All children and teens will be with their families during the worship services.
  • Life groups may meet offsite as long as they can meet responsibly following the guidelines.  No children’s ministries or childcare will be provided.   Life Groups may meet onsite by special arrangement through Discipleship Ministries with restrictions or continue meeting via Zoom.
  • Church offices will reopen. Staff who feel it is in their best interest health wise can choose to telework from home.
  • Leadership and business meetings will resume in person, observing social distancing guidelines.

Phase 4 (June 13 – June 26)

TFNaz’s Plan

  • On-site Worship Services will continue.  We will continue to set up our seating in strategic ways to support our social distancing objectives. No offering plates passed, but will use offering box.  Communion will be served with safety in mind.  Communion will be offered on the second Sunday of every month, beginning on June 14th.  Our service times will be 9am, 11am, 1pm, 5pm, and 7pm.  We will continue to weekly remind and train volunteers to provide distance greeting, and the necessary cleaning and sanitation practices between each service time.
  • All children and teens will be with their families during the worship services.
  • Worship services will remain available online through live streaming.
  • Life groups can meet in person or via Zoom.  We will have in place a professional cleaning service to provide the necessary cleaning and sanitation practices before and after our on-site meetings.
  • Church offices open. Staff can choose to telework from home if concerned about health issues.
  • Larger ministry groups can meet, contingent upon meeting social distancing guidelines.
